Con grande sorpresa, la newsletter della European Bluegrass Music Association (EBMA) di giugno 2017 riporta una recensione del nostro EP “G-RUNNERS”:
“It would be courageous for any band to take on any of the bluegrass standards but G-Runners, with their hearts firmly set in the music of Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, the Stanley Brothers and Jimmy Martin, do it with style, originality and their own Italian flavour.
Their first CD, with the imaginative title “G-Runners” containing such traditional classics as “Kentucky Waltz”, “The Old Home Place” and “Over in Gloryland” captures the authentic feel of real traditional bluegrass. And who would dare these days to record “Blue Moon of Kentucky” if they could not do it justice.
“Ninety Nine Years” and One Dark Day has drive and groove, while “Cluck Ol’ Hen”is surprisingly different to other versions with a haunting feel to it.
With solid three-part harmony singing supported by well balanced instrumentation this is not a copy of things that have been recorded in the past. It is a CD which pays respect to the past as well as giving the songs added value with individual style and well thought out but uncomplicated arrangements.”
